My experience as an IT consultant within the financial industry has provided me with a very broad set of skills. Most customers have limited means and limited time and I had to make use of whatever means were available to me. As such I have expertise and knowledge in many different technologies.

Data Science

Combining data in statistical models is one of the expertises I am trained in as an actuary. I am skilled in developing statistical prediction models. I have succesfully developed models that can predict fraude in health insurance, detect fake news and predict the value of interim-employees.

Data Modelling

Data engineering is a field I am currently enthousiasticly working in. I am skilled in designing data models with type 2 SCD. The data objects are deployed on Azure and are daily ingested more than 1100 times by many departments in the company. For this I use Powerdesigner, Databricks, Collibra and Confluence.

Quality Engineering

No matter what the product might be I believe that Quality is key.
I am not only skilled in performing functional tests, but can also create automatic test applications.
As such I created a dashboard in DataBricks checking more than 5 billion records on a daily basis for completeness.

Teaching

One of my favorite passions is teaching. The trick is to explain clearly and tell passionately.
I have been succesfully training employees with little to no technical skills as succesful IT consultants. They now have diferent roles, ranging from test-engineers to data analists to solution architects.

FloodRisk

Modelling the economic impact of floods on mortgage property

I conducted a study to model the economic impact floods in the Netherlands can have and how banks can include this in their evaluation of mortgage loans. Using a monte carlo simulation it was possible to model this taking into account mitigating measures that governments, cinty councils and home-owners can make. The study was conducted to investigate if the proposal of the AFM on a climate label was possible.

Quality Dashboard

A daily scheduled Dashboard to test data pipelines on completeness

A big banking company has to deliver data consisting of more than 5 billion records daily to all departments in the bank in delta lake format in Azure. It is important that all data is daily processed. I created a dashboard in Databricks to automatically check all processes and warn the team if there were errors found. The result was a quality improvement from 90% to 99.99%.

Device delivery

Automating a process with the Profit ERP and web development

With the rise of remote work a company needed to improve the process of providing it's employees with IT devices. I completely automated the process from sending in the application as delivering it using the ERP system Profit and connecting it with the intranet using special webpages and API's. The result was that the entire process was improved with a factor of 10.

Onboarding

Connecting the ERP to studytube and Messagebird using different API techniques

In today's jobmarket getting good employees is a hard task and it is incredibly important that new employees are onboarded in the right manner. In order to improve the onboarding I automated the IT license process connecting the ERP to different platforms like messagebird and studytube. The result was that necessary tasks were executed automatically and without little issue making sure that employees felt right at home.

I love doing my work and trying to make the world a little bit better every day. This while trying to learn every day a little bit more about the world and myself.
